Electronic Systems Design
Many of the systems that we prescribe are integrated into an interior
acoustical space and are therefore subject to interference from
physical boundaries such as walls, floors and ceilings. Understanding
how these boundaries affect the quality of the reproduced sound
to the listener is equally important as the choice of the electronic
and loudspeaker components themselves.
Prediction software platforms such as EASE are used in conjunction with field measurements to provide a loudspeaker system that delivers high fidelity to the listener. A CAD wireframe model of the acoustical space is created and surfaces are applied to accurately predict how a single or multiple loudspeakers will react within the space. This saves money and time for the owner by allowing the designer to avert potential interferences and choose the correct loudspeaker products for the venue.
Acoustical Measurement and Analysis
In order to treat a pre-existing problem such as reverberation, echoes, or environmental noise, it is first necessary to understand the source of the noise. Measurements are taken with microphones and the data is saved and processed. The results can be studied to determine the direction of the noise source, the magnitude or volume level, and the frequency content. Finally, the proper treatment products may be chosen and applied to counteract the effects of the reflections or noise with exact placement guidelines from software and measurement calculations.
